About Programme
|
The aim of the Department of Tourism Management is to educate future managers by giving them the ability to organize, manage, and evaluate. A wide range of courses provides students with an analytical perspective on social issues, teaching them how to use scarce resources in the most efficient way, and contributing to the effective management of firms - hence the country's economy. They are also educated as "managerial or managerial candidates, " who are able to analyze the problems they encounter with the help of contemporary management approaches, which can bring rational and scientific solutions to these problems, equip them with information that can make their own workplaces, scientific decision-making, and open to contemporary ideas and developments.

History
|
Our department was opened under Alanya Faculty of Business, Akdeniz University in 2005. In 2015, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University was founded and our department was moved under Faculty of Business. In 2016, Tourism Faculty was opened and our department now operates under this faculty.

Qualification Awarded
|
Tourism Management at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University is a First Cycle (Bachelor’s Degree) program.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.

The students who successfully complete this programme may apply to second cycle programmes.

Graduation Requirements
|
The First Cycle (Bachelor’s Degree is awarded to students who have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.00/4.00 and have taken and completed all the courses (240 ECTS) in the program.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
The Department of Tourism Management graduates occupy leading positions and managerial position in tourism and hospitality industry. Successful graduates are welcomed by many international and national establishments ranging from international hotels, food and beverage establishments, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, conference centers, airlines to animation and event management organizations. The successful graduates may also become entrepreneurs operating their own travel agencies or boutique hotels.
